Removing Metals from Wastewater

A conversation with Hubbard-Hall’s Robin Deal
Robin is a Field Service Engineer specializing in industrial wastewater treatment for 7 years. She spends much of her time in the field educating customers while helping them meet their wastewater permit requirements. When in the lab Robin is working toward finding efficient ways for customers to transform their wastewater treatment processes to a lean wastewater treatment process.
Here Robin talks about the processes and chemicals she recommends to reduce chrome, nickel, zinc and solids from your wastewater and answers the questions we all want to ask!
- What is the process for chrome reduction? What chemicals does it take?
- What is the difference between a coagulant and a flocculant/polymer?
- How do you get a nickel out?
- What are chelators, and why are they in my wastewater?
- What’s the best way to remove chrome?
- How do you remove solids?
- What can you do to take care of a filter press?
- How can you remove zinc?
- How do you make flocculant? Can you overdose on it?
For more insight and expertise, listen to Robin’s podcast on removing metal from wastewater and how to stay within limits.
