Over 75 Students Compete For a Spot at the You Be The Chemist® Challenge

Hubbard-Hall Sponsors Middle School Students

On March 4th and 5th, Hubbard-Hall sponsored middle school students from Middlebury, Naugatuck, Newtown and Southbury Connecticut in the local You Be The Chemist® (YBTC) challenge. YBTC is an educational and fun academic competition for 5-8th grade students in chemistry designed by the Chemical Educational Foundation which is a part of the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD).

Top Scoring Students

Over 75 students participated in the program for a spot to compete at their local challenge. The top scoring students at the challenges were: Eric G., Aidan G., Justin C., Nilay G. and Henry H. of Rochambeau Middle School and Kevin K., Tarnishq K., Ryan D., AJ T.and Terrance D. of Memorial Middle School. They will all advance to the Connecticut state YBTC challenge scheduled for April 27th at Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury, CT

Each local challenge participant received a goodie bag provided by Hubbard-Hall Inc. and additional prizes donated by Edmond Town Hall, Denmo’s and Quassy Amusement Park. The state champion will represent Connecticut in the national challenge this June in Philadelphia.
