CT Student Competes in National Chemistry Challenge
Maggie Palys, winner of the Connecticut State You Be the Chemist Challenge, participated in the National You be the Chemist Challenge on Monday June 20th in Philadelphia, PA. The eighth grade student from Oxford, CT was competing against 18 other middle school students from across the United States. All participants and chaperone were invited to Philadelphia for an expense paid trip that included a planetarium breakfast and celebration dinner at the Franklin Institute, in addition to the competition which was held at the National Constitution Center.
Andrew Lingenfelter, an eighth grade student from Seneca Valley Middle School in Evans City, PA, won the title of National Challenge Champion. Shivani Angappan of Bedford, MA; Haripriya Mehta of Des Plaines, IL; and Namita Nabar of Brea, CA placed second, third, and fourth, respectively.
