Corrosion Protection for Nickel Plated Surfaces (June 2011)
Very often we find our customers need to increase the corrosion resistance of a nickel plated parts. The issue may be voids in lower current density areas or the inside of tubular materials. Frequently manufacturers find themselves using hazardous nitrite or primary amine based chemistries to improve the immediate corrosion issues.
The nitrite and amine chemistries help fight the immediate short term corrosion problem, but often is not the most desirable long term solution. The answer is Hubbard-Hall’s Metal Guard® 700. Metal Guard 700 is a non-mineral oil, nitrite and primary amine free corrosion. This product leaves a very thin protective film with superior corrosion resistance, while removing the hazardous chemistries from the work place.
