Surface Finishing was Lacking
“Vintage Air prides itself on the number of processes that we have developed in house,” states Allison Chisenhall, Senior Chemical Process Engineer, Vintage Air. “One process that was lacking was our surface finishing. We decided to finally take the next step to develop our own in-house powder coat operation.”
Introduction to Hubbard-Hall
That next step resulted in an introduction to Hubbard-Hall. “We have a fantastic team that values the high-quality products we are known for,” Chisenhall emphasizes. “When we designed this process, we wanted the highest quality coating we could achieve. Hubbard-Hall was integral in the design element of the pre-treatment process.”
Results in Costs Savings and Quality Improvements
The resulting process integrated three of Hubbard-Hall’s advanced cleaning products: AquaEase PL 86 (an extremely low foam, heavy duty alkaline cleaner), Hubfos 150 (a water-soluble, organic accelerated iron phosphate), and Emerald Seal (an acidic, non-chromated final seal treatment). “These off-the-shelf solutions resulted in substantial cost savings and quality improvements when compared to alternate pre-treatments we considered, such as other methods of chemical and mechanical processing,” Chisenhall is proud to point out.
