The Challenge
For a 100-year-old eyelet manufacturer, issues with their paint stripping process were beginning to slow down and delay production. Their current chemistry provider was falling short on service and value. Additionally, the chemistry they provided created wastewater issues due to unacceptably high level of benzyl alcohol. To make matters worse, this same chemistry had a strong odor that made working with it all the more unpleasant.
Knowing from experience that production line problems are costly and need to be resolved quickly they called Hubbard-Hall.
The Approach
Our specialists went to work right away. Ultimately, we custom developed a new product to solve this customer’s problem. That product is Aquastrip ACB, a mildly acidic liquid cleaner that is effective in removing tenacious polymeric coatings. It contains no hazardous solvents, has no flash point and is biodegradable. We designed Aquastrip ACB to keep discharge levels down – solving the wastewater issue. Even better, it also has no odor, which made everyone in the facility happy.
The Outcome

Today, Aquastrip ACB has become a versatile stripper in Hubbard-Hall’s product portfolio. It is being used to strip various powder and organic coatings on most metals and is proving to be highly effective
in stripping costly masking materials thereby allowing them to be reused for up to 3 years.
