Deoxidizers/Descalers

Used to remove oxides and scales on a variety of different substrates, these Hubbard-Hall products are available in a variety of formulations. We offer both acid blends and alkali blends in powder and liquid form to meet the needs of the application.

Alkaline based deruster and descaler type products offer the advantage of minimal base metal attack compared to acidic products. They will not engender hydrogen embrittlement. Alkaline-based products are not recommended on non ferrous metals with the occasional exception being made for copper.

Acid based products will deoxidize/descale steel and iron faster than an alkaline product. Acid based products are recommended for deoxidizing and descaling of aluminum alloys, brass, bronze, galvanized and zinc metal surfaces.

Acid Brite 40 *HCL Replacement	Acid Brite 40 is a phosphoric acid cleaner/deoxidizer for aluminum and stainless steel surfaces and descaler for steel surfaces. This liquid blend of inorganic acids, biodegradable surfactants and solvents can replace most mineral acids, including hydrochloric acid (muriatic) to remove heavy soils and oxides quickly and effectively.
Acid Brite 50	Acid Brite 50 is a phosphoric acid cleaner and deoxidizer for aluminum and stainless steel surfaces. It contains a blend of inorganic acids, surfactants and solvents to remove heavy soils quickly and effectively
Acid Brite 340 *HCL Replacement	Produce a smut free, active metal surface on steel, zinc, brass, copper, nickel, aluminum, pewter, Kovar and Invar. Acid Brite 340 is a liquid acid salt / activator used to replace most mineral acids used for pickling and surface activation in plating operations, including hydrochloric acid (Muriatic) known as HCL. Acid Brite 340 is ready-to-use and does not require dissolving salts.
Descaler D	Descaler D is a rapid acting, fluoride type dry acid flake additive used to replace hazardous hydrofluoric acid pickling operations (stainless steel and titanium alloys). It is suited for desmutting wrought and cast aluminum alloys. Furthermore, Descaler D may be used to produce a frosty-white etch on aluminum castings.
Deruster 11J	Is a powdered highly alkaline water-soluble product, which may be used to remove rust, heat treat scale, weld scale, smuts (with current only), oils, and paint from ferrous metals. It is used as an immersion or with reverse or periodic reverse current to hasten the rust and scale removal in a rack or barrel operation.
Hubpik	Hubpik is a concentrated inhibited muriatic acid. The inhibitor and a special additive aid in the derusting, descaling and pickling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, monel and any other metal for which muriatic acid. Hubpik minimizes the loss of iron by preventing attack on base metal without reducing rate of scale or rust removal.
Lusterclean™ 11L	Lusterclean™ 11 L is a liquid product, which, may be used as an electrolytic cleaner, soak cleaner or cleaner/deruster of ferrous metals in either rack or barrel line. This product has the ability to split mineral based oils, thereby extending the life of the solution.
